Drawing on Eyes for Inspiration
I grew up drawing when I was a kid. You could often find me at the kitchen table with a pencil scratching away at a piece of paper, tongue sticking out of my mouth in concentration.
Eyes are the Window to the Soul
An Airbrush Connected me Back to my Authentic Artist Self
But when I began airbrushing portraits – of both people and animals – I was scared to draw or paint eyes.
Art is all about observation. And the more you look into an eye, the more you see. I began to truly embrace the complexity that lies within the anatomy of an eye. And now, airbrushing or drawing an eye is my favourite way to convey the exression – and soul – of a subject.
Leopard Art Print
This leopard's eye art print incorporates a unique blend of mediums. Some spots were created using acrylic ink, giving the fur an abstract, watercolor-like effect that seamlessly blends into the realism created using an airbrush. Some of the fur was added in with a paintbrush, while other details were created by removing paint with an x-acto knife. Originally painted on a 9” by 12” canvas with acrylics, this striking combination of natural hues and vibrant colours makes it a perfect fit for any room in your home.
Whether you're seeking wall art to elevate your living space or add a bold pop of color to your decor, this leopard eye print brings nature's beauty to your walls with a modern twist. This print would also make a great gift for the leopard-lover in your life.
