“Reverence” – Art Prints of Moose Painting

This painting shows a unique aerial view of a moose walking through water, leaves tangled up in its impressive antlers. I was inspired by a video shared by Angler’s Alibi, a fly fishing lodge in remote Alaska. And it reminded me of a solo motorcycle trip I took in the summer of 2024. I was somewhere on the 31A highway between New Denver and Kaslo, British Columbia when I saw a moose wading in water just off the side of the road. I did a U-turn and rode by him again to catch a video. That was definitely the closest I’d ever been to a moose before. And if you ride motorcycles then you know how much more connected to your environment you feel versus riding in a car. “Swamp donkey” may be a common Canadian colloquialism for a moose. Apparently due to their awkward appearance and habit of living in wetlands. But that name doesn’t really resonate with me. “Reverence” is the word that came to my mind.
