“Listen Softly” Original Painting – Equestrian Art with Forest and Moon Phases
CAD$1,575.00
Original painting by Amber Bahm who grew up with horses in small-town Saskatchewan, Canada.
Have you ever held a horse’s ear in your hand? The back is strong and rigid – and it fits almost perfectly in your palm. And then you can run your thumb through this bowl of thick, soft fuzz. A paradox I find parallel to the strength of a horse versus their flight response. There’s something that feels so natural, ancestral and grounding about spending time with horses. It’s the same feeling you get when you sit in a quiet forest, or howl at the moon. Like even if life feels a bit shaken up or upside down, there’s this space that makes you feel deeply rooted and connected to self. If I got to choose how you feel when you look at this painting, that is the feeling it would be.
- Original Painting: 16 x 24 inch, 1.5″ deep gallery wrapped canvas. Framed and ready to hang.
- Frame: 2″ deep wooden float frame, painted black, handcrafted in Canada by Rustic Burl.
A Unique Piece of Contemporary Art
Listen Softly is a one-of-a-kind painting showing a close-up view of the top of a horse's head - it's tangled mane and soft, fuzzy ears. Above this is an inverted view of a dreamlike landscape of misty mountains behind snow-dusted evergreens. Down the center of the painting, seven moon phases connect the surreal mountain landscape to the horse below. The colour palette is composed of muted blue-green-greys. Almost monochromatic. Cool with a subtle warmth you can't quite put your finger on.
This original painting is on a 16" by 24" inch, 1.5" deep gallery-wrapped canvas. Presented ready to hang in a black wooden float frame, extending its depth to 2".
