This forest fringed wolf painting is for those familiar with both the peace and the quiet melancholy of solitude.
Lone Wolf is quite a popular term, considering wolves are inherently pack animals. I painted this during a season of life when I moved away from the city and community I had built over 14 years. I spent a lot of time in nature, in the good company of the forest’s tall trees – something Vancouver Island has no shortage of.

Original double exposure forest / wolf painting by Amber Bahm. The painting features a close up of the right side of a wolf’s face, anchored by the intense gaze of its golden eye. Towards the bottom of the painting the fur gradually dissolves into a misty forest landscape, where evergreens show through soft layers of fog. This painting was created using a combination of airbrush and traditional brush techniques. The eye glows with gold leaf.
